Most of us are caged in our homes thanks to the demonic virus and do not have much to do. Bonding over food while playing Xbox or a game of Sequence is the max we can do to kill the boredom. That directly means the person responsible for cooking and cleaning up will be on the toes.
We cannot hit the gym, we cannot do much of sports and we cannot go to Target every other day for our household supplies. Under such circumstances, it id difficult to ensure that we maintain both health and hygiene standards. Here are some tips that will help you keep your family healthy, maintain hygiene standards and also cook easily without feeling overburdened while you are home.
Stock Up On Essentials
We have hated market trips our entire lives but we never thought a visit to the supermarket will give us so much respite.
Unfortunately, the markets and marts are virus zones these days and it is best to avoid frequenting to grocery stores. Therefore stock up on at least three weeks of essentials. Of course, it is not recommended to hoard an entire store because we would not wat price hikes at shortages at this time.
However, get adequate supplies of homecare and pantry to last you a month. If you are planning to try out a new product at this time, make sure you check up for a review before investing in it.
Cookware
You should not be expecting guests anytime soon, therefore you do not need to cook in large quantities. Cook in small quantities and cook fresh every day since eating fresh is healthier.
Frozen stash will also clutter your refrigerator and freezer and cleaning oversized cookware is much tougher. Try to use smaller pots, pans, and woks as much as possible so that you need to do minimal dishwashing.
Dishwasher
If you do not own a dishwasher already, this is the best time to buy one. You can stack up against your cookware, utensils, and cutlery easily in the dishwashing unit and let it take care of all the dishwashing while you can focus on other important chores.
Steam Mop
Steam Mop is the greatest investment for a shiny clean kitchen floor free of all infections and viruses. It uses heat and steam to clean the floor which helps to loosen stubborn food particles, stains, grease, and grime and makes your floor squeaky clean.
Tea Towels
These cheap stacks of towels are the most magical invention by mankind. You can simply not have enough of these little towels. Once your dishwasher has run its cycle, open it and wipe all your dishes clean using a dry tea towel. Likewise, you can use these towels to wipe your kitchen counters and cabinets for a nice tidy look.
Vegetable Garden
Although this is optional, highly recommended having your kitchen garden. There are a lot of vegetables that you can grow from kitchen waste and pluck out fresh produce from the plants when cooking instead of going out for a purchase. Garlic, coriander, mint leaves, and many other vegetables can be easily grown on your window sill with minimal maintenance.
