What “Fitness” Experts Didn’t Tell You About Juicing

There has been so much debate about the actual benefits of juice cleansing or the practice of juicing ever since it became a trending way to get into shape. Many celebrities credit their beautifully toned bodies to juicing and how it has changed their lives. Other so-called fitness experts also rave about this practice and tell their followers to invest in the state-of-the-art equipment that can give them the best results and squeeze out every bit of goodies from juicing.

Of course, the catch is, they did not tell you everything. In this article, I’ll be giving you an honest review of this juicing phenomenon to help you make a better decision of whether or not you should incorporate green juices into your life.

Juicing Should Never Be Used As A Meal Replacement.

This might come as a shocker for those who swear by juicing, but darling, I’m afraid that juices can never really be enough to give you all the nutrients your body needs. Let’s go back to basics, shall we?

There are what we call macronutrients, which are your basic nutrient requirements to keep your body in tip-top shape. These include a balance of carbohydrates, protein, and fat. Then there are the micronutrients which are all the vitamins and minerals you get from yummy authentic juices.

Now the thing is, whatever juice you whip up won’t give you enough carbohydrates, protein, and fat to make sure that your body runs at its peak performance. It might give you more than enough micronutrients, but you get my point, right?

Fructose Isn’t All That Bad.

Some critics of juicing say that juicing is bad because it contains too much fructose. I’ve already mentioned before that overconsumption of fructose can lead to some liver problems but I have to reiterate that it’s not really the only cause of fatty liver. Hence, you should not avoid drinking green juices (especially the ones that are made 100% from fruits and vegetables) just because overindulging on fructose can lead to liver issues.

What you should be looking out for are other food sources that are high in fructose that are devoid of any nutritional value. If possible, eliminate them from your diet at all costs.

Juicing fruits and veggies is not better than actually eating them.

Juicing isn’t bad but if you really want to get the whole benefits of fruits and vegetables, nothing can really beat actually eating the entire thing. The all-important fiber is lost when you juice because you remove the pulp and for some, that may be a dealbreaker. But if you only practice juicing to get all your vitamins and mineral needs on a daily basis, then go right ahead.

You Can’t Just Drink Any Green Juice.

Whipping up any green juice sounds so easy, but if you’re not careful, it may cause you more harm than good. Some veggies are actually harmful to our bodies not because they contain toxins but by how they were prepared. Pesticides that are toxic to bugs and even humans are sometimes left unwashed on veggies so you should be on guard about this. Be particular about where you source your greens. Better yet, just look for a reputable juicing company that guarantees the freshness and safety of all ingredients used to make your favorite healthy green juice.

Wrapping Up

All things considered, juicing has a lot of incredible benefits if you know how to prepare them correctly or if you know where to buy the right ones. They can be a wonderful source of vitamins and minerals that can protect your body from getting sick and can improve your skin, eyes, and overall health. It is also a wonderful alternative to all the calorie-rich beverages that are surprisingly more advertised in the market today.

It is clear that there are only a few downsides to juicing but at the end of the day, it can guarantee to make you feel healthier inside and out.
