Your Complete Guide To Hosting a Party During the Pandemic

Celebrating a special occasion during the pandemic takes some planning and strategic thinking if you want to stay safe and still have a good time with your guests.

Despite the current health crisis situation unfolding around the world, there are safe ways to host a party during the pandemic, such as using a birthday party boat charter San Diego or having an outdoor event at a park. Here are ways you can host a party during COVID-19.

Understand the Current Restrictions

Before making a plan and setting up reservations for your party or special event, understand your town, city or state’s restrictions on activities and gatherings. Keep yourself updated on your area’s current spread of COVID-19 by checking with the health department and understanding the risks.

Limit the Number of Guests

If it’s allowed to have an event, the first step to making it safe is to limit the number of guests. Check with your local region to determine the appropriate number of guests you should have for your special event.

Keep it Outdoors

Next, book your event at an outdoor venue to lower the chances of spreading any germs. Indoor gatherings may have a higher risk of spreading the virus. Consider holding your event at a park, backyard, beach or on private San Diego boat charters.

Encourage Masks and Social Distancing

It’s important to emphasize masks and social distancing prior to your event and during the actual party. If you send out an invitation, add information that masks are required and provide some extra disposable masks on hand for anyone who shows up without one.  Plan activities that keep people spread out and socially distanced.

Stock Up on Soap and Sanitizer

Additionally, make sure you stock up on plenty of soap and hand sanitizer for your party. Keep the soap dispensers in the bathroom full throughout the event. Position extra hand sanitizer dispensers around the space of your event or provide each guest with their own small bottle of sanitizer to keep things clean.

Use Disposable Items

Instead of serving food in traditional dishware or holding a buffet-style meal, you’ll have to make adjustments to keep things safe and problem-free during the pandemic. Use disposable packaging, plates and plastic ware to avoid any instances of cross-contamination. Consider ordering individually-wrapped meals and snacks for each guest if you are choosing a caterer for your wedding reception on a boat San Diego.

Eliminate High-Risk Activities

It’s also recommended to eliminate any high-risk activities for your party while the world continues to deal with the pandemic. High-risk activities include party favorites like singing karaoke, sharing drinks, dancing and anything that involves physical contact.

Consider Going Virtual

Lastly, if conditions in your region show a serious outbreak, it may be better to hold off on a party for the time being and do a virtual event instead. Additionally, if some guests are immunocompromised or have other health issues, you may invite them to come via video instead of in-person.

A celebration of a birthday or other special event is doable during a pandemic if you do it the smart way. Protect your guests and yourself by following these guidelines and have an amazing celebration.
